My journey with doodling began when I was about two and a half months pregnant with my daughter. It was a quiet little habit that brought me an unexpected sense of calm, peacefulness, and joy during that special chapter of my life.
I found inspiration in different doodling styles and several YouTube videos. I would follow an idea that caught my attention, then slowly add something of my own—changing a detail, improvising a pattern, or simply letting my pen move wherever my imagination took it. Over time, those inspirations became mixed with my own little ideas and memories.
Years later, my daughter has developed her own love for colours and painting. Looking back at these doodles now feels even more meaningful. They remind me of a time when she was yet to arrive, while creativity was already quietly becoming part of our story.
The Doodles chapter of Mindful Table is not meant to be about perfect art or complicated illustrations. It is simply another kind of pause—a space between the words.
A small pause to stop, notice the details, and let the mind wander. Sometimes mindfulness can be found in stories, memories, or familiar places—and sometimes, simply in a pen, a few wandering lines, and the quiet joy of creating.
